Broadband Terms & Conditions

Specific terms for UK broadband circuits sold by Broadbent Network.

ClassificationPublic

1Service

Broadbent Group Ltd t/a Broadbent Network supplies UK broadband over Openreach, CityFibre and selected alternative networks. We sell these as Full fibre, Superfast broadband and Standard broadband. Superfast is the service often called SOGEA; Standard is the service often called SOTAP or SOADSL. Availability is confirmed before order using a postcode and, where provided, a UPRN. Speeds quoted are maximum downstream/upstream rates for the product; the rate delivered at the premises depends on the network and the engineer survey.

Dedicated leased lines are quoted per site and are not sold from the online catalog. A written quote forms the contract for that circuit. These catalog terms apply to Full fibre, Superfast and Standard broadband unless the quote states otherwise.

2Contract length

Each circuit is sold on a 12, 24 or 36 month minimum term as shown on the product. The minimum term is twelve months in all cases. After the minimum term the service continues monthly until cancelled.

If you cancel a broadband service before twelve months have elapsed, a £50 early-cancellation fee applies in addition to any remaining contracted charges.

3Installation

Standard managed Openreach install is included on most 24 and 36 month full fibre products. Twelve-month Openreach full fibre typically includes a one-off install charge as shown at checkout. Premium and Advanced installs cover longer internal runs and are optional configuration items.

You must provide safe access for the engineer. An aborted install (no access, unsafe working conditions, or a cancelled appointment without reasonable notice) may be charged at the then-current aborted-visit rate from the wholesale provider, passed through at our retail markup.

4Static IP

Symmetrical full fibre (SFTTP) includes a free static IPv4 address. Other broadband products use a dynamic address unless you ask for a static IP. Where a static IP is provided, it is assigned after the circuit is live. We do not warrant that a particular IP number can be retained if the service is migrated or re-provisioned.

5Pricing and VAT

Catalog prices are exclusive of VAT. UK VAT at the prevailing rate is added at checkout where applicable. Hardware (routers) is a one-off charge. Voice seats, if added, are billed monthly with the circuit.

6Fulfilment

After payment we provision the order with our wholesale partner. Lead times depend on the network, wayleaves and engineer availability. We will keep you informed of appointment windows. We do not warrant a specific go-live date until the network operator confirms it.

7Acceptable use

Use of the service is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. You must not use the circuit for unlawful activity or in a way that degrades the wholesale network.

8Service level

Network availability follows the wholesale operator’s service levels. See our SLA for how we handle faults reported to us.

9Termination

After the minimum term, either party may terminate on 30 days’ written notice. Early termination during the contracted term is charged as remaining monthly fees plus the £50 fee if under twelve months. You remain responsible for returning any rented hardware if supplied.
